I really needed a laugh today, so I found this video by Christian comedian, Michael Jr. about "Praying in a Group".
Let me first say that as an intercessor, I LOVE to pray with God's people. Having said that, I must also confess that over the years, I've been in my share of peculiar prayer groups. It's inevitable when you get people from all walks of life, culture, background, and experience, who are still growing in their maturity with Jesus, you will hear and see some strange things.
This is not to offend anyone, just a funny parody to remind us that we need our group prayers to focus on the One we're praying to, not those who are listening to us pray within the group. On a side note, I do not believe that God hears all prayers no matter how they come, but I understand the point that Michael Jr. is trying to make.

ReplyDeleteHa! That was too funny! I have prayed with a lady over the years who would try to get her point across to someone in the group while praying. She really loves Jesus too, but it didn't feel right to me. Ha. Oh man, the sweaty dude -- I would throw up.
